I am, quite frankly, amazed at the lack of attention which Sony are giving to the problems we are having with the walkman app after the recent Jelly Bean upgrade.
To recap, once our phones go into 'sleep' mode the walkman just plays to the end of the current track... and then silence, for maybe 30 to 60 seconds, sometimes for several minutes, before it suddenly decides to play the next track. Pushing the 'on' button makes the next track leap into life. The same thing happens with another music player app I have installed, so it's a Jelly Bean problem, and not the music apps' problem.
We are waiting for a solution to our problems, Sony, please give us one, and quickly.
I'm sorry, I have acknowledge this from previous threads and it's being looked into.
But if you would like to contribute to the investigation of this please PM me the following details.

Hello, i found a solution for this walkman problem. you have to uninstall the smart connect update, and everything will working well. you can set up the apps for hands free, and in sleeping mode will continue the music and after unpluggig the hands free the speaker will work normaly.
so try this, and do not install update for smart connect.
i got the same issue like useers. I use poweramp for the music and all my earphones and headphones( bose, beats studio, tdk, denon, sennheiser ie80 and cx300ii) when i listen a music phone restarting automaticly every 20 min. I am so tired to do factory reset again and again what customer service respond to me......
amadeuxs i done what you write but is the same problem sorry this solution isin't work
Hi Duke3d3,
i dont know why, but for me this solution working well, i am using again walkman app.
Hi,
I tried amadeuxs solution - uninstalled updates for smart connect from google play and walkman app is switching tracks correctly now!
yesterday i sent a PM to Johan (Sony Xperia support) and i waiting what he will answer. Sony Xperia T i love this mobile sound is amazing but not from walkman i use a poweramp. Betther than my old HTC sensation XE.
But if this problem will not fix i don't know how i will enjoy to music when my phone will restarting couple days...
The issue has been found and will be fixed in next software update which is planned to be released during week 14.
Planned on week 14... not bad. Update to JB was on January, first update to fix all the issues on April.
Two months...
I really hope and expect that, after two months with this phone working worst than 4 years old phones, all the issues will be fixed.
As you can see, people here is not really happy with their phones.
Amazes me how a company like Sony can have their customers abandoned for two months, with a phone that it's not even 6 months old.
It is just unbelievable!.
Walkman issue you can resolve by reinstalling SemcMusic.apk, find it in web and reinstal it. Solution is from http://forum.android.com.pl by user RenegatPL. Thanks
