Sony charging dock DK52 and Xperia Z5 in SCR42 case

Hi all,

This is my first post, so apologies if I break any conventions.  I've looked in the forum for this issue and cant see it anywhere but that could be my inexperience with the forum.

I have recently received a Z5 as a work phone, and bought the DK52 dock and SCR42 case (out of my own money, I should add!).  When undocked the case / screen widget works fine and displays correctly (NFC is all set up etc), but when I dock the phone the widget stops working and the display goes full screen which then obscures it as it's in the case.  I dont want to have to take it out of the case to dock it so that I can see the full screen, but I dont know why the case widget stops working on docking.

NFC doesnt seem to have settings on it (e.g. disable when charging, or any other setting for that matter, it is simply on or off).

Can somebody point me in the right direction - what am I doing wrong?  I assume I have the wrong setting somewhere?

Many thanks,

Andrew Griffin.

What if you press the power button after you connect the phone to the charger?

After a couple of attempts that seems to work, thanks.  It's a bit fiddly - what is the cause of the issue then, is it because the case widget only works when the phone is unlocked?  I'm still not clear on where the issue is or why?  And when it's docked I'd have liked the screen to stay on with the widget showing but that also doesnt seem to happen (i havent investigated the power setting options yet).

Also, I cant work out how to open text messages from the widget, I have tried side-swiping and double-tapping but the "2 received messages" message just sits there.

Apologies, for my rambling response, but I have a HTC One phone also using Android and I'm trying to adjust to how the Sony works.

Thanks,

Andrew.
