Hi,
I am having a very strange problem with bluetooth on my Xperia XP, in my car i have the following setup:
BMW Bluetooth for phone
HTC Audio bridge for streaming music
When i connect to both of these everything seems fine audio works great and the phone seems fine to. After a period of time ( which seems to vary ) the phone loses its phone signal so i cant make calls or recieve data ( annoying because i use it as a sat nav ) the audio streaming is still fine and according to the car the phone is still connected although the signal meter in the car says its fine the Xperia says no signal. If i then remove the phone from the car and turn off bluetooth the signal still will not return and the only way to get it back is to reboot the phone. I tried disconnecting the car phone bluetooth connection and just use my audio bridge but it still does the same, does anyone have any ideas or seen this before?
Thanks,
Andy
That sounds very strange. Does this happen only when you use bluetooth? Try using it in your car for a while with bluetooth turned off in the phone. Do you still have this problem?
Hi Rickard,
Thanks for the response and I think i have found the problem, did the following tests:
1. Phone with no bluetooth, no problems
2. Phone with Bluetooth to the car's phone system, phone saying no service - reboot to recover
3. Phone with HTC audio bridge, phone saying no service - reboot to recover
4. Phone with both running, phone saying no service - reboot to recover
Then i thought, I wonder if the fact that the phone is 4G enabled but my phone contract is not and i had driven into a 4G area, so set the phone to 3G and GSM only and it works fine.... any ideas why this might happen?
Cheers,
Andy
Glad to hear that you found the problem.
Not sure why this happens only when bluetooth is on. If your SIM/contract doesn't support 4G you should actually get this problem also with bluetooth off if 4G is enabled in the phone.
