Hi all,
I'm trying to pull photos from my phone to PC for editing, storage, etc.
Z5 Compact running 5.1.1, and Windows 7 Pro.
Drag-and-drop or copy-paste actions from the DCIM folder to the PC will crash Explorer very reliably : I get a standard 'Windows Explorere has stopped working' message with a restart option. The error details are these :

Installing PC Companion hasn't changed anything.
Any ideas?
What if you boot your computer on safe mode and/or disable any antivirus and report back.
Nope. Disabling antivirus had no effect and the USB connection wasn't recognised in safe mode/safe mode with networking.
Incidentally, using the autoplay import function simply skips the camera files.
Nope. I can access the files on the phone without problem, whether internal storage or SD card, and both Windows Firewall and my antivirus are disabled. I can transfer a file from internal storage to SD card using Explorer with no problems. It's simply when I try and transfer the camera files from internal storage to my PC.
So, I can transfer a file from the DCIM folder in internal storage to the SD card, from where I can transfer it to the PC.
Not sure if that's actually more annoying than not being able to do it at all.
It would be nice to be able to do it directly.
Sadly, no. I can't quite understand why it works from the SD card but not from internal storage.
