USB Charging Port

I have a feeling my my X10 USB port is somewhat broke. It won';t charge whatsoever via the mains or via PC USB cable. I have had to purchase a plug travel charger with the 2 prongs in order to get it working.

Would the software have played any part in disabling the USB port on the phone - which a software upgrade or flash would solve or would I be looking at a complete USB port replacement on the Xperia?

Thanks for reading and hopefully someone will be able to shed some light on my problem.

I've got the same problem with my X10, although I haven't found a solution to it yet. It's currently dead with no battery life after leaving it hooked up to the mains charger for a few days. At first I thought it was just the USB cable, although after buying a new one (which arrived today) and leaving it charging on the new cable for a few hours, it still doesn't take a charge. I've followed the trouble shooting advice here http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/phones/detailed/chargingts/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en and nothing has come of it. The white square on the battery hasn't changed colour so I'm assuming it's not the batterys fault so that leaves the USB port and I've no idea what to do about that. I'm going to contact customer support in the next few days to see what they say.

On another interesting note, I didn't have any problems with my X10 until after that small firmware update the other week. Since then I have struggled to charge the phone and the camera stopped working a few times after the update.
