video recording without sound

Hello everybody.

I got my new Xperia Z about 3 weeks ago and today I tried to record a video for the first time. The picture was brilliant but there was no sound at all. I thought maybe the microphone was deactivated in the video camera settings, but it wasn't. Voice recording is working great and there hasn't been any issue with phone conversations at all. Is there a second microphone that is responsible for the audio record in video, that could be malfunctioning? I tried and downloaded a different app for video recording (mx video) but that failed in recording any sound as well. There is no problem with playback either. Videos from different sources than the video recorder play like a charm.

I have the newest firmware (10.1.A.1.434) and have also used google for the problem, without getting any results.

Thanks for the help in advance. I hope there is a solution to this problem.

Haven't heard this one before actually. Have you tried repairing the phone software via PC Companion? If it's software related it should help. If the problem persist after a software repair, I'd say it might be the microphone that's broken and in that case you need to send the phone in to service.

My new Xperia Z is having this problem too. Updated to 10.1.A.1.434 immediately after purchasing on 04 Apr 2013.

Is it confirm that repairing with PC will solve issue? I hate to lose data and apps.
