All of our phones have something called a Sales Item number printed on the label on the back of your phone, just next to the unique serial number (IMEI). This Sales Item number should consist of 4 digits, a dash and then 4 digits more. There could also be a .X in the end but that is insignificant for this purpose.

So check which Sales Item number your phone has and then check the page blow to see if you are available to get the update now.

I think some people are having issues with PC companion telling them that they already have the update (even though they don’t and it should be available for your kit) so if your number is included here but you still can’t get the update there might be some trouble-shooting needed to get it work.

If you have such issues, first check that you don’t have a firewall or Virus protection somehow blocking the PC-companion from Internet access. Also you can try removing and re-installing the application or delete the contents in the database folder for Update Service “Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db".

Here is the link where you can check the kits available to update: http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2010/11/09/these-kits-have-the-update/

That’s because it depends on the region. It doesn't really mean nothing specific the fact that your number is in the middle of those that already have it.
