W995 camera problem

Please help, I have a W995 phone, everything with the phone works except the camera. The camera works but it is very slow. If i want to take a pic I have to wait about 4 seconds each time because the screen seems to freeze. All camera options and settings are slow to respond. If I power the phone off/on, after power up and go to camera all works fine but left for 10 mins and go back to camera the problem comes back. Has anyone had this problem and if so your advice would be appreciated.

You can try the "reset settings" option in your camera settings and see if that helps.

Thank's for your response. I have already tried resetting the camera setting but this does not resolve problem, I have also done a master reset (reset all) again this did not resolve the problem. I have checked that the phone has the latest software and it has version 1215-7995 R1EA028090410. Is there any thing else that I can try? Thanks Gary.

Yes, you can try re-installing the software via PC using the SE update service (select the "install" option on the bottom right of the update application page) and failing that, try a phone repair via PC suite (this option is under the Help tab of PC suite).

Followed your instructions for reinstalling software via se update services but I'm not getting the option to install at the bottom right. It just tells me that I have the latest software and there's no more options. I'm I missing something? I would like to try this before I do phone repair. Gary.

I don't know why you don't get this option as my W995 gives me this option on my Windows Vista.I suggest you try phone repair via PC suite which essentially re-installs the software anyway.

Have tried the repair, followed all online instructions. Repair starts but fails, with message try again or report to SE support centre. Tried 4 times each time got the same error message. Would it have anything to do with the fact that I'm running windows 7 and not vista?

Hello Gary,

I would suggest that you update the software on your W995 to resolve the problems you are experiencing with the camera facility.

To do this I would firstly advise that you download the update service directly from our website, rather than trying this via PC Suite.

To download the update service go to: www.sonyericsson.com> Select Support> Select the model of your handset> Select Discover more support> Select Software downloads> Select Save.

Once the update has saved select Run and follow the onscreen instructions.

Emma, thanks for your response. I have already done what you suggested with no luck. I think the best way forward is to do a reinstall of the software,which has already been advised.If you look back on older posts and the instructions I was giving before, they will explain why I can't install the software. So if you have any further Ideas please let me know. Regards Gary.

It may be the case, so you could try the update service and/or repair via PC suite on a different PC.
