Warranty

Hello

I bought a new phone through virgin mobile in July 2013, i bought out the contract because i've been out of the country. It had been working fine then suddenly died on me last month. I've taken it to two seperate mobile repair shops and both said it can't be repaired. Could someone please advise me whether it would still be under warranty and if so who do i contact.

Thanks

It could be covered by warranty but since you are on contract with Virgin mobile, you need to contact its Customer Service first telling that the phone is broken. Then if the customer service said its a go,then send it directly to Sony Repair Center(and it will cover for warranty). But in most cases, the contract supplier would try to repair the phone first by themself(and usually they wont fix it properly) and also charge you a hefty price for repair and even after they repaired it,and its broken again, only then they might(just might) allow you to claim warranty at Sony Center.Thats their way gaining profit.

So my advice,go directly to Sony Center and pay for the repair(it will be costly!).At least, the repair is proper(unlike the telco technician) and also dont forget to ask the repairmen at sony for the waterproof test at the Sony Center itself!

Oh,but your warranty might have been expired(but in some countries, the warranty offered by Sony is 2 years). So you'll need to bring it to Sony Center.

If you are in the UK then you still have consumer protection with Virgin but you may have to prove the fault is inherent
