I just bought a new sony xperia t. I am having issue connecting to my wireless router.
Phone details:
Model:LT30P
Android Version: 4.0.4
I use WPA security
I have connected an iphone, other android phone, Windows PC, and Ubuntu PC to the same router without issue using the same security credentials. If I switch off the security i can also connect my new Xperia without issues.
The message I get on the phone is "Authentication Problem".
I have re-entered the password dozens of times but still I cannot connect. I have tried telling the phone to forget the network
Its like the password is somehow stored incorrectly in the phone. Can you provide a solution?
JJ

Have you gone through the thread on the link below to see if any tips from there might sort it out?

I had problems where mine was bombing out the router (WPA Secured) needing a reboot of router. Switching to Wireless G only stopped this - maybe a different symptom of the same issue? Let's hope new firmware sorts it's clearly dodgy wifi........
I had the exact same problem 'boomin' out the modem after about 3 mins of connection? all other devices worked perfectly, xbox, DS, plus 3 other Android fones so i tried all the different wifi channels an nutin? in the end i changed the security settings from wpa-AES to wpa-TKIP and its worked fine ever since? No mor waitin for the connection to drop an ruinin the kids on-line gamin progress!:smileylaugh:
TKIP only works up to 54Mb (Wireless G) so that's basically what i've done. Any attempt on any settings to use Wireless N (145/300Mb) crashes routers soon as phone downloads anything. £50 for a router and £30 for an adapter, and i've now got to dumb down my local network cos Sony can't get a phone out where wireless works.
I dont understand Gazz? today ive used 189mb of wifi data wit my router still set to wpa-tkip??? its bin set to that for ova a wk now an from 15thNov to date shows over 2GB of data on WiFi?? now in sayin all that i havent actually downloaded any apps or files etc thats jus bin you tube! obviosly not the same thing yeh??
maybe my model of router, but setting to tkip, only gives me a 54MB option (wireless G) - as soon as i use 145Mb or 300Mb it changes to AES........ Guess i'll just have to live with it and hope JellyBean sorts it in Jan..............
yep, thats a weird one? i didnt think that the diff security levels applied wud effect the download aspect? my router was set to aes and for the first couple of wks wit the xperia all worked fine, then outta the blue... router problems! ..about a wk after gettin a replacement router? total melt, taut the f*****s had sent me another bogey router! have ya tried the different wifi channels an all yeh...?
MY phone connects to all other wifi but fails to connect to my home linsys router.
i guess the wireless setting tries to connection using WAP-PSK and there is no option to set it to WAP-AES... whereas all other anodroid phones and applicaiton connects to the same router..
My xperia T cannot connect to my wireless router; It says authentication Problem.......yet the signal strength is excellent.
What can I do? please help.
