Does any one know how/where to download/find a platform on a PC for the X10?
My good old Nokia had "Nokia PC Suite" that enabled the user (via bluetooth) to type and send messages, answer the phone, set calender details, basically anything all from the PC as long as the phone was in bluetooth range...... I cant seem to find a programme that does this for the X10. PC companion is very average and limited.
You cannot use bluetooth for these functions on Xperia. You can download a free application named My Phone Explorer that can help you in doing the things you want. Application is available on market. PC plug in is available for download at http://www.fjsoft.at/en/
Thank you, my phone explorer i have downloaded, however my phone explorer does not recognise my x10 phone? in fact my pc does not recognise my phone via USB?
however pc companion recognises my phone
For My Phone Explorer to work you have to enable USB Debugging. You can enable this by going to Settings> Applications> Development and check USB Debugging option. Launch My Phone Explorer application on your phone and PC. After this, connect your phone to your PC using the data cable. You will be notified on the phone. On the notification tap on connect phone option. Now on the PC application go to file and click connect.
WOW, your a genius! thanks a billion dude,....... i can live again!
Your messages are really helpful. I have exchanged a Nokia N8 for the X10 and am seriously regretting it. I installed My Phone Explorer on my PC and the client on the phone and it worked once. Now I keep getting a message that the phone is not connected. I've tried enable debugging and everything else suggested but I keep getting the same message. I've wasted the last two days trying to persuade the phone to have single contacts - some were multiplied by 10 and sync with Outlook for my calendar - essential. Not that My Phone Explorer won't sort it I'm about to chuck the phone out of the window!! Can you help?
ok this is the best thing to do regarding this contact sync etc
first go to your phonebooks and edit your contacts, one by one, deleting duplicate contacts, duplicate phonenumbers or info (I know a pain in the butt)
once your done with that
press MENU tap on MORE then Back up contacts
once your done with that on your phonebook
that way you can sync them with your Google/gmail and you wont have to worry about this again, since you can sync them with other computers or phones
Tat was helpful.
I use PDA net from Market for a better phone & PC tether
