Good update to ICS, except of camera. There is preview and playback lagging. Camera is not usable. Please, make a hotfix. Thank you.

I now have the similar problem, after I upgraded to ICS yesterday: viewfinder screen lags quite strong while recording in HD, allthough there's no visible lags on playback (maybe I didn't shoot much enough). Аnd I faced another problem, even more significant to me: recorded videos have quite loud and terribly annoying 'ticking' sound on playback, despite there's no any audible sounds while recording. Very upset about that. The was no any problems on Gingerbread. Topic is opened on June,1st, and still no resolution and even no official answer from SE for now? It's unforgivable!

SOLVED:For those who are experiencing lags in camera and HD video playback and other issues should perform "Factory Data Reset".

Go To SETTINGS->BACKUP & RESET->FACTORY DATA RESET.

This will take some time to complete but after that you'll get an experience of holding a new phone again which is faster, smoother and real SONY XPERIA.

WARINING:This will clear all your data on the phone like all apps and contacts.You should first export your contacts to memory card or pc.

What this will resolve:

Video recording lags.
HD video playback lags.
Flash video playback crashes while playing videos(hd) on youtube or on any website.
It will make your phone fastest and the best.

What ICS update improves:

A much better sound -LOUD and CLEAR (XLOUD has improved appreciably).
Display has also improved-thanks to Mobile BRAVIA Engine and smoother animations.
Faster Web Browser with nice effects and easy to use interface with tabs .Tab preview is also available as in iphone.
Chrome browser can also be downloaded on ICS.All the effects in chrome are also smooth without any lag.
And all other improvements you'll find sooner or later.

If you don't perform factory data reset then another issue that you might be facing is that when you try to install chrome from Play Store you get ab error that says "chrome is not available for your version of ICS".

It is also suggested that you perform Erase SD card by going to SETTINGS->STORAGE->Erase SD card and please dont forget to take backup on your pc first.

I was also initially very sad about what has happened to my phone that used have everything and performs everything the best without any errors.

But now after problem being solved i am double happy and excited.

And for those who are wondering that they have to reinstall all the apps again,I would say "Oh come on! that's not a big deal if you are getting so much improvements and by the way, you are getting a chance to get rid of the apps that u haven't used that you installed during first few days of your phone.

No, did that, still have the same problems.

A lot of people in this forum did that, and did not solve their problems.

Your solution does not get more correct by being posted in every thread you can find on the subject.

The issue (HD recording lag) has already been discussed and acknowledged by Sony and forwaded to the developers.

i just upgraded too my Sony Xperia Sola and i have some problems for ex camera FX 5 the sound it's destroyed i can't make photos...and the original camera works bad...lagget the night i can't see nothing with android 2.3.7 works perfectly...and the battery good 3-4 days ....but with android 4.0.4 only 12 h...please make something with android-4.0.4 or i neeed driver for my camera or i need back the original android 2.3.7..because with that the phone works BEST and the programs like vlc media player...not working...but frist works fine...i hope will fix these issue.because my phone it's destroyed.
