Reading on a previously posted thread alot of people have said that they have issues with the battery life of this phone and have alot of trouble with it not turning itself back on once the battery has died completely.
I am starting to regret buying this phone....
someone make me see the positives and persuade me that this wasn't a mistake, please?
I thought I'd be fine with the battery issue as I don't use apps, hardly use it for calls and generally only do texting however I still end up charging it every night which isn't good for the battery obviously but the one time I didn't, it virtually died on me by the following lunchtime and as I have to be contactable during the day it was a big problem.
eek!! not what i wanted to hear!!
seriously regretting this now and still have 24 months to go

Charging your phone every night is absolutely fine and the acceptable standard for modern smart phones. The batteries are of a different standard than in your old dumb phone where you could over charge the battery. You will notice that with the X10's you cannot actually turn them off whilst charging. This is because the phone monitors the charge constantly and switches off the input when 100% is reached. Once it has dropped to less than 95% it will allow the battery to charge up to 100% again. This is all normal behaviour.
The things that improve battery life have been well documented on here but the quick list is update to the latest firmware, don't have wifi or bluetooth turned on all the time, reduce screen brightness, reduce the frequency of polling for updates on email/twitter/facebook/timescape etc.
I bought one of these snazzy little fellas a few weeks ago, and over the last week, it had died on consecutive days on me. So I took it back to the store and they swapped the handset and battery for me. However, when I got it home, I put it on charge all night, only to see this morning that the battery is only on about 1/3 (if that) so I had another read of the user guide and noticed that basically the battery/phone decides when it can charge itself depending on when it was last charged - is this correct (i.e. am I understanding this correctly?)? Also, when I put it on to charge now, the light in the top right hand corner is orange, not green. Is there anything I can do to ensure the battery charges to full without waiting for the phone to decide when to charge completely??
Thanks!
It is simply impossible getting 1/3 battery after all night charge, may be your neighbour had a midnight blackout that you haven't noticed because sleeping, check it a few days with different charging methods, orange light is normal and would indicate charge progress, just wait until light turn green then it will turn automatically off and check the amount of charge..
I was completely unsatisfied with the battery life of my Xperia mini. Hardly it lasted an entire day. Once I switched it for charging and miraculously since that day the battery last up to two days! Even if now I charge the phone while is switched on
