Hello Kylie, I have moved your query to a new thread as you had got it somewhat buried in the huge X8 issues thread and may not get the help that you require.
If your sisters phone is still on Android version 1.6 you can download the Bluetooth File Transfer application from the Android Market and this lets you use the phone to browse files on the connected device, then you can tick box it and use the Menu button and Edit to copy and paste it on to your local files.
It may be worth having a look on either PC Companion or Sony Ericsson Update Service to see whether her phone can be upgraded to Android 2.1 which has a better Bluetooth functionality.
