As I wanted to put a video on my tablet, I connected it with my computer. SonyPCCompagnion told me there was an update so I did the update.

I ended up with a virus on my computer and the tablet is not working at all since the update! I'm not impressed at all, especially as I needed my tablet tomorrow.

It is a nightmare to swtich it on or turn it off. Impossible to do anything: no video, no music. The system is not working.

Please help!

That's a serious claim. Can you give us any details? OS, Android version you were on, model, country....

PC Companion said I had an update 2 days ago, I updated but it was the same version, nothing seemed to happen, but the tablet is working ok. Maybe it was a very minor update but the version number looks the same. PC Companion says that I have the latest version now (4.3). I'm scanning my PC for viruses now but it looks clean so far.

I got the update too.. It downloaded roughly 800 MB, and installed saying you have the latest version. Not sure what has changed though.. Wonder if any of the Sony care team care to comment ?

I have had no probs though, no virus, and tablet is same as before, smooth..

Was the virus WORM_MYDOOM.GEN ?

After my scan I found this and it wasn't on my system recently. It's been cleaned now but slightly worrying that this may have come through PC Companion but it's hard to be sure where it originated from.
