Xperia Z PIN Lock(ed) out

Hey guys,

I decided to set a PIN lock on my lock screen, and when I was setting the PIN it was allowing me to use special characters (such as !@#$%^&*,./; etc), so I decided to make use of this and make my PIN a combination of special characters and numbers.

Long story short, there is no way to use special characters when actually trying to unlock on the lock screen - I am locked out of my phone.

There is no way to "Forgot my PIN" like Pattern is able to do, I only have access to "Emergency Call" (Where I have tried that old firmware trick to bypass, didn't work.).

I've looked at ways to factory reset, but Software Updater isn't working ( I believe it's because I've flashed International firmware using Emma (I'm waiting for my account to be approved?) ). can't see to get adb to work so I can't reset it that way.

I'm basically out of ideas... How can I factory reset my phone, or gain access at very least.

Okay I solved it by re-flashing the firmware in Emma, (actually read the readme for Emma this time).

Surely this is a flaw in the firmware though?

A.) Being able to designate special characters when setting a PIN (but not being able to select them on lockscreen)

B.) No PIN recovery (ie. Google account details like pattern has.)
