Xperia Z1 bluetooth issue with Ford Audio Car Radio - Fiesta 2012

Hi,

i have the Z1 compact with 4.3. Everytime i connect my smartphone with my car it starts to play continously music if a music app is active (even in the background). When i try to stop it, it makes a 2 seconds break and resumes. If i close the app, the problem is solved. But why does it play, without a chance to break it up?

I hat before a Z1 compact with 4.4.2, it was even worse. The walkmann app started for itself and played music. Even if i stopped the walkmann app, after 2 seconds it started itself again and ruined my day. But luckily i could return my 4.4.2 Z1 Compact to my vendor.

Has someone a solution? I am the only one?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I suggest that you check the application "Smart Connect". It sounds like you have an event in this app that is set to start the WALKMAN application when you connect it via Bluetooth to your car.

Otherwise, you could clear data for Smart Connect via Settings > Apps > The tab "All" > Smart Connect > Clear data. This will restore the app to default.

Same here: In the past I used an Sony Xperia P to connect to my Ford Focus 2007 Bluetooth V2C audio system. It was tricky to get it at first, but it worked. Then I moved to a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact with the latest official Android update... and I now cannot pair the device anymore!

The car's BT signal just does not show on the phone's Bluettoth interface when searching for it, so a PIN is never asked for and therefore the functions such as answer phone while driving cannot be used.

I also tried connecting the Xperia Z1c to the car's USB port, but again it will not be detected as a shared USB memory (like the old Xperia P did right) so I can't play music on the car's stereo either.

I tried fiddling and resetting the Smart Connect Android app, but this didn't work either.

What else can I try?

P.S: It'd be nice if you guys at Sony really thought trough on incorporating some _real_ functionalities regarding car audio systems pairing, such as a one-click BT connect feature for a range of car models. Your users would be very grateful.
