HI Jusley,
If Safemode holds the same result, you could always attempt a software repair on the device to see if this helps. However make sure to backup the device with PC Companion/ Bridge for Mac.
I have supplied instructions below.
Here's how to run the repair on PC Companion:
1. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
2. Phone Software Update.
3. Start.
4. Repair Phone
5. Continue
6. Accept data removal
7. Next
8. Wait for prepare
9. Select Phone
10. Follow the connection steps
And Bridge for Mac:
1. Launch Bridge for MAC without the handset connected.
2. On the Main Window select "Xperia > Repair Xperia Device".
3. Ensure the phone is charged and select "Ok" in the following window.
4. Select Continue on the following page.
5. Wait until the initialising step is finished the continue as below.
6 . Select your model of phone from the list that appears
7. Follow the connection steps that appear, ensuring that you are holding the relevant button down before during and after the connection phase until the update/repair begins.
let us know how you get on.
Hi Guys thanks so much for your responses. I tried booting my phone in to safe mode but the NFC did not work even in safe mode. So I also tried repairing the device using PC Companion with the steps provided by Jake-SonyXperiaSupport but after it was done the NFC still does not work when I tried beaning content to another device. But if I go to about phone/ diagonostics and run a test on NFC the phone will pass the test. but the NFC will not work when I tried to use it and the NFC icon is not Showing up at the top where the battery information is displayed like my friends own do. But thank you guys so much uliwooly and Jake-SonyXperiaSupport for your responses if there anything else you guys think I can try please let me know. Thanks much.
You can contact your local Xperia Care to get it checked

Keep in mind that you might have the same phone but you might have different firmwares, settings > about phone, in some the NFC logo doesn't appear on the notification bar.
I transferred so songs to my wifes Z3 from my Z2 using NFC and the bluetooth beaming just last weekend. And now when I tried to do it again, I noticed that the NFC is completely unrepsonsive. I then tested the NFC with the Sony SRS-BTV5 speaker and the MDR-EX31BN and both of them are nonresponsive to the NFC. I rebooted the phone, checked the stuff wit PC companion repair, etc. and it still doesn't work. I did the Service Test menu via *#*#7378423#*#*>NFC>NFC Diag Test and it is showing:
Swp
UICC:failure
eSE:Failure
What does this mean? Is this some recent update that broke NFC? Or did my hardware start failing all of a sudden?
