App menu orientation

I have removed app shortcut from the home screen, so I can now simply swipe up to view my apps library. But once I am there, I am only given the option to view my apps in individual "panes", and the gesture to move between them is a horizontal, single digit (finger) swipe.

My question is this: how do I also get my apps library to be a continuous vertical list instead of individual, horizontally segmented panes? Like on the Samsung Note 8 and other Android Oreo 8.0 devices?

Possible answers:

1) Download 3rd party launcher (no thanks)

2) It's not available (don't you dare. Not after spending this much on it).

3) About to be included in an update.

Otherwise, please tell me how. Thanks in advance.

@Jukebox461 Xperia Home isn't open source. if you're looking for a FOSS launcher, try Lawnchair Launcher on Play Store. it has the vertical scrolling pane for the app drawer, too.

@Jukebox461 Xperia Home doesn't have an option to display all apps on one scrollable list, so if you're not willing to get a third party launcher, you'll have to stick with horizontal panes I'm afraid.

Is the OS/firmware/native launcher open source? Could we just rewrite the native launcher ourselves? It's really annoying having to swipe all the time compared to that sweet, fluid scrolling of the other phones.
