So I decided to finally update my Xperia XZ to Nougat 7.1.1. My phone is currently running 6.0 (39.0.A.3.30) and it seems that the phone would go through 6 updates to reach 7.1.1 (41.2.A.2.199). Would it be okay for my phone to go through 6 updates in one day? What would be the best way to do this?
Hi @Zettto!
Software updates are released at different times depending on the operator, market, region or country. Therefore, I cannot give you an exact date for when a specific update will be available for your device. In addition, network operators and specific markets may choose not to avail of the updates for specific models.
I hope that answers both of your questions!
@Sant_XZR, Thanks a lot for helping out!
I have a Sony Xperia XZ and I've installed Companion on my laptop. I've had the phone for two years, since it was new, but notice that the Android version is old (39.O.A.1.213) and the phone will not update. I've tried to reset the factory settings - and used Companion to repair the system files, but the same version of Android (from 2016) reappers, not matter what I do.
I've spent so much time on this now and are really frustrated. Why wan't me phone update the Android version??
Kind regards
Paul
Hi @FrustratedXperiauser, sorry to hear that you aren't able to update your device further.
Could you please send me a private message with your IMEI number so I can check why this is the case.
To find your IMEI number, open up the application called "Phone" and type in *#06#. When you have the number, open up my profile (link below) and tap on "Send a message".

Thank you.
