Can anyone help... Im trying to install some apps from my amazon account but every time I try to, I get a notice telling me to set up my device to browse for digital Content and apps from amazon and turn on unknown sources in my security settings. I've already gone to my settings and done this but it's still not installing the apps and keeps coming up telling me to turn on unknown sources.. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated
which apps are you trying to install? does it happen to just one specific app or multiple ?
I've got a couple of game apps, one being sonic the hedgehog, that I purchased from amazon which I had on my Z5 premium and I want to install them on my new XZ3. They are in my amazon account ready to install but when I click Install I get the message come up. I've had another look in my security settings under advanced and although it is showing as allowing apps from unknown sources for amazon, below that is another box labelled 'store' but that is showing 'app installed from package installer'. I think I need to change that but I don't know how I do that. (photo below shows what I mean😁)
Also it's the only 2 I'm trying to install so haven't attempted with other apps.
I checked the internet.
Does this help?
Enabling 'Unknown Sources' on Android Oreo or Higher
Starting with Android 8.0, the process of sideloading apps has changed dramatically. No longer is there a system-wide "Unknown Sources" setting — instead, it's now handled on a per-app basis.
This means that when you download an APK with your browser, for instance, you'll have to give your browser permission to install apps. Same goes if you try to install an APK from your favorite file explorer — the file explorer will need explicit permission to install apps as well.
While this is a pretty big departure from the way things worked before, it's actually pretty simple. Just download APKs as you normally would, but when you launch the APK, you'll be prompted to allow the permission. Tap "Settings" on the prompt, then enable the switch next to "Allow from this source" on the following screen. From there, hit your back button, then you can resume installation.

no, that just tells you how the Amazon app has been installed (through Play Store or outside of it). there's no way or need to change that.
Still can't install the app(s) so going to pop into my nearest phone shop to see if they can figure it out. I don't know why they won't install even though its showing on the advanced settings that I've set it to allow apps from the amazon app store.
