I am just getting my phone set up.
I somehow got 529 contacts on the phone that I don't want there.
I want to delete them all and then import a vcf file with the correct contact list.
How do I do that?
Thanks
Pete
Don't try it on your Android device, use your computer.
Find out how on Google.
Maybe this gives you a clue.
Well I worked it out. I found a free app, "Delete All".
That deleted all my contacts on the phone.
The best contact list that I had was on Thunderbird (email client) on my desktop.
I exported my TB contacts to a .csv file.
I fired up MyPhoneExplorer. I have used this app for many years and love it.
It synced with the (empty) contacts on the phone and ended up with no contacts in MPE.
I then imported the .csv contacts file to MPE and synced it with the phone.
Bam, the list I wanted was now on the phone.
Also, I use TB on a tablet computer. The contacts list there had become somewhat different from the one on the desktop. So I synced my phone using MPE to TB on the tablet.
Now I have the same contacts on all three devices.
And google never got a wiff of my contacts.
Did I say that I think google knows too much about me?
