I've tried using Xperia companion. I can't find a menu the offers 'import from file'. Does it exist?

Are trying to import it from a different phone or it is already on your computer ?
Either ways, you can simply send it to your phone using Bluetooth and then save it to your phone or to whatever account you want.
The easy way is this: Export and/or import on your computer.
It will automagically be synchronised on your phone.
