Mic problem. When I call they can't hear me, sometimes

Hello, 

I have a problem with the mic of my xperia xz1 compact. Sometimes when I call, the person on the other end can't hear me... I call again and they can hear me.

App. 50% of the calls I do they don't hear me. It never happens when I recieve a call.

What could this be?

We have the exact same issue with my wife's XZ1 Compact.
The recorded volume has turned down over the past few days - until today. Now you don't hear anything anymore.
The strange thing is if you turn on the loudspeaker, the microphone works. If you try to make a normal call with the device near your head it won't work. I guess it's more a software problem than a hardware problem. But we will send the device to Sony for a repair later today.

We had same problem. We took phone to service and they repaired microfone and updated the software. Now it works right. It was case of warranty service.
