Problem bluetooth pairing

Hi,

I've had Bluetooth connection and playback problems since updating to Orio [android 8.0]. My XZ Premium keeps dropping the connection, and not connecting properly playing music properly]. It also doe when playing music on my Bose Soundlink mini II, as well as my Plantronics BackBeat pros!

I think YouTube is the culprit! If I boot up the phone in safe mode [or in any mode actually] everything works fine until I play something on YouTube. After that I can't turn the volume up, and bad things start happening. Think there's been a shift in an underlying API cos I can't belive a Google app would be badly written, but then Google wrote the api, so that's that's that theory out of the window

There's also a problem with the volume control that happens regardless of the state of the phone which is also intermittent. I can turn the volume down using the volume control on the phone, but not up! Ironically the only time the device controls seem to work is when it's paired to an external Bluetooth device. If I connect it to a Bluetooth device I can also control the volume from that device, both up and down, and this has only started happening since I updated to 8.0, but again this seems to be tied to YouTube. Also if I adjust the volume using the external controls of an active paired Bluetooth device, I can then adjust the volume normally on using the controls on the handset.

Uniataled YouTube and the problem with the volume control seems to have gone away. Won't know for sure for a while. I'll post again in a few days after I've had time to use the device more fully.

I have had YouTube disabled with all updates removed for that app, and haven't had any problems with Bluetooth dropout or the volume control on my device. Just re-enable YouTube and expirienced Bluetooth dropout from the app. Volume control is working so far. I'll post again at the end of ten day or tomorrow when I've had a chance to use the phone and the apps a little more.

I've now done a software repair from my computer, and the volume control is still not working correctly. It failed the test from the diagnostic screen but was working prior to upgrading to Orio.

I've not yet tested the Bluetooth issue, but this seems to have resolved itself already.

I'm having the same issue with the Bluetooth drop out.  Did you manage to resolve it by chance?

Unfortunately not.  A recent system update has made the connection soemwhat more stable, but many of the usueful features that used to be present (eg talking messages, audio track information) are still not owrking at all.
