I compared a lot of photos and they shows that problem. It is the fact that Sony XZ1 noise reduction blure all details. There are many compaints about that in the internet.

And even if we will not compare do you see quality of Sony XZ1 photo? It is all blurred...

I think you're right about this blurring effect the software brings.

Nevertheless, try to be a bit creative and learn to live with the properties of the camera to achieve the best results.

Try to make your Sony photo again by pointing in several directions.

- point a bit to the sky, half press the camera button, point to the center where you are aiming at and press

- point a bit to the ground, half press the camera button, point to the center and press.

- aim at the center and press

You can achieve the same by tapping on the area of the screen where you want to focus.

If you want to achieve more, then read a bit more over here.

Lastly: a phone will never win from a DSLR

I read the link you provided

From panoramic views to close-up photos. Superior Auto mode works best in situations where the lighting conditions are good and you just want quality results without having to manually adjust any settings.

Above is not truth. Auto mode is not usable.
It possible to make good photos only in manual mode.

Let's stop defending. We all know that Xperia cameras are very poor. Just admit it.
