Transferring files from phone to USB Storage Device

Hi I recently upgraded to the Sony Xperia XZ. I want to transfer pictures/videos to the USB Device, although it recognises it, whenever I select items to transfer it doesn't bring up the option to transfer to USB Device, only SD Card. Any advice would be most helpful. Thanks
