Out of the blue my Xperia is unable to detect the memory card.
The offered suggestion online does is not compatible with my phone.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do?
Restarting hasn't made any difference.
Safe mode?
Test with a different card?
I presume settings->storage does not show your card.
Are permissions set right?
What happens when you insert the card while the device is running (not switched off) ?
Does it force asking permission for access?
Hi @ECM-Adam, sorry to hear that.
As @Strampke recommended, trying with a different SD card would answer a lot of questions, as it will tell us if the SD card is defect, or the SD card reader is not working correctly and not detecting any SD cards.
If you haven't tried unmounting the SD card and mounting it again, that would also be a good place to start.
Keep us posted on how it goes!
SD cards have a tendency of dying slowly.
In their last life cycle they have a nasty habit of disrupting processes (read/write and memory misfits) on your smartphone as well.
When your device is misbehaving one way or the other, even in safe mode, then taking SD and SIM out is another way of detecting where problems arise.
Have the same issue. Sony never fixed it, same issue with other Xperia I had.
My SD-Card works fine.
Suddenly out of nowhere my music stops playing, can't read cause they're in the SD-Card.
