XZ2 & Android 10 - 52.1.A.0.532

Just received Andoid upgrade to 10 52.1.A.0.532 - most of the functions seems to work without any hassel. What I recognized is, that the fingerprint reader is responding with a much bigger delay than before - seems to be a high lag time. Anybodey else with same xperience or any other issues?

Since latest update I know have radio issues. It seems that connection is not as stable as before. Fingerprint sensor is OK. But battery life still drain to fast. Super disappointed in the lack of coms from Sony. Will not be buying another Sony phone.

Unfortunately I'm noticing all the old issues again, plus new issues to me, particularly that the battery life now is terrible and the phone does not last a day. As others have mentioned, my WiFi connectivity is suffering from frequent disconnections, where no other devices in the house are struggling.

This bears all the hallmarks of memory leaks still persisting. It's just poorly written software, and given that other support forums for other products had complaints of almost these exact same issues when they had earlier upgraded to Android 10, it seems quite obvious that Sony applied the same stock 10 software off the bat instead of using the forewarning from rival products.

I honestly can't believe how poor Sony's reputation for software is considering the sheer size of the company. They really are right at the bottom of the pile now. The hardware is excellent, the software is amateurish.

Well, Sony deleted my old community account JS87 and forced me to "upgrade" with a new username, losing all my info and stats. There's no point of contact on this entire forum. Typical Sony - for anybody looking here before buying, don't bother, get out, Sony is a sinking ship.

I came back to say that I was upgraded to 52.1.A.0.672 on 15th April and it seems to have fixed the "3rd party microphone" issue - I am now able to record voice messages on WhatsApp and my recording software n-Track.

The phone is still prone to hitting a lag patch, but nothing major, and nowhere near as bad as before.

The battery life is still reduced by an estimate of about 20-30% on Android, allowing for some natural drop given the phone's age.

Wi-Fi connectivity is slightly improved again from previous bad Android 10 firmware versions. It's totally useable, but not perfect. In honesty, I remember all connectivity being quite shaky and prone to drops when this phone came out of the box, so I'm convinced that the type and placement of antennas in this phone has always been poor, and software has always been trying to compensate for a hardware problem here.

And as always, sorry but I don't agree with giving companies biometrics, so I don't use the fingerprint scanner and can't comment on its useability.

To Sony - it sounds like you need a Test Lead for your mobile products, as your current team should have pre-fixed all Android 10 bugs before pushing the upgrade (they had 4/5 months to learn from other brands). The damage this has done to your brand might be unrecoverable. I work in tech and have a background with Wi-Fi - perhaps you should reach out and offer me a position

Generally speaking after each Android update, other security updates follow fixing any produced bugs, so make sure you get the next one. You can also delete all registered fingerprints and and re-enter them, make sure there isn't any kind of layers between your finger and the scanner, wipe it clean yo.

@Johnny88s My old account was automatically converted to this new forum yesterday. I received 12 emails within a minute, telling me that I had reached all kind of levels, form my first post to my current level. Looked like spam .....

Holy crap! Had an update to Android 10 - 52.1.A.2.1 like a week ago. Since then it's impossible to download updates for my apps (and other system relevant programs). I finally realised that this issue is caused by the fact that I'm usually always connected by wifi. Turned off wifi-connection and tadaa...   ...I'm currently receiving around 60 updates over my mobilephone-network 🙄

Sony: are you serious? You are aware of the wifi-issue since january and still didn't feel like fixing it? Is Sony so busy with the upcoming PS5-release that the whole company got involved in the Playstation department?
