Contact app doesn't fetch my contacts from outlook account

Hi everyone,

I sync my contacts between my phones and computers through a microsoft account. I got a xperia z3 compact a few weeks ago, linked my outlook account to the contact app and it is shown as added in my account yet my contacts are not displayed in the app ! I don't have any error messages, the app says i am in sync with my outlook account.

In the outlook app, i have no issues, i get to access my contacts.

Steps i tried :

  1. relinking outlook account
  2. using a different contact apps
  3. Went to the filter setting and got sure that under the "display contacts" section everything is ticked.

I am all out of ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much

Thank you for taking the time to answer Rhydz but microsoft support just provided me with the solution and it was a different issue than yours.

For those interested : you have to authorize manually through outlook your phone contact app to sync with your outlook contact account : just adding the outlook account in your contact app as i did is insufficient.

To solve this, i had to install the outlook app, got into settings, tap on my account and once there, triggers the sync contact options. Maybe it is the case of badly designed UI or a case of stupidity on my part, i don't know. But i am glad it is solved, it was very annoying.

I also use MS-Outlook for my contacts and the only issue I have is that they do not synchronise automatically - I have to do it manually.

My settings in Exchange activesynch are:

Domain/Username: \ followed by the full email address (the \ is important)

Password: your outlook password

Server: eas.outlook.com

Use SSL: yes

Accept all SSL certificates: yes

Use client certificate: no

It took me a while to get this working but it was a while ago and I don't remember what I had to do.
