Experia Z1 (C6906) still cant see update 14.1.G.2.257

I am from Canada, and my phone still cant see the update 14.1.G.2.257 via PC companion nor update service nor directly thru phone. I am still stuck with 14.1G.1.534.

Is it normal :/? Or is it just me?

Hi, I just wanted to calrify with some people who have managed to update from 14.1.G.1.534 to 14.1.G.2.257 recently.

I got the update on 16/10/2013, and Sony PC compnaion told me I got the update, so I updated it.

I thought I had the update for a while now but to my surprise, only now while i was scrolling through settings. I found that my Xperia Z1 was still stuck on 14.1.G.1.534; I don't know what just happened but I was sure it was 14.1.G.2.257 when I connected it to my laptop. I checked on PC compnaion and it said I had the latest software available, I'm a bit worried about this because the 14.1.G.1.534 seems to drain battery quite oddly during stand by times (5%/hr or worse).

Can someone tell me if I'm supposed to let the phone's battery settle for a while before getting to full abalities?

Also, is this normal that sometimes the it takes 20 minutes to drain just 2% while screen on, and suddenly just 20 mins to suddenly drain 10% whie performing same tasks?

If it helps, mine is sim-free Malaysian model and was bought on 15/10/2013

Its recommended that after installing an update you reinstall it with SUS or PCC (Try SUS instead of PCC)

Repair your phone

Update Service (SUS)

PC Companion (PCC)

Bridge (for Mac)

Firmware: A lot of people received the notification (probably a general notification) to update but then seems like maybe our region (mine is SG by the way) is not up yet. It is fine. Be patient, Sony multiple versions of firmwares.

Battery: It is too early to say but your battery needs another week or two to calibrate properly. Based on your general tasks, I would say should be ok but I am sure it will improve more once your battery is calibrated and of course upon update to the latest firmware (I am on the latest firmware and battery consumption is definitely better than on .534 firmware).

Hey,

Well firstly, the update through the PC was very buggy for me. I would suggest that you plug the phone into another PC and try again to see if the update works. I had to use 3 pc's before i was able to update my phone.

Also make sure you have charged your phone using a power cable rather than the USB since it just seems to charge faster and better (Duhh it has more power than the usb output).

Lastly about the battery drain, though you might be doing the same thing, there might be background apps that are running as well. Do see if anything is running in the background that might be a battery hog. (It is also quite common that the hotter the phone runs the faster the battery drains. So if youre using it for 20 minutes continuously, i can expect some level of heating. Hence the additional drain could be attributed to that.

Regardless, get the update on the phone and maybe all that will settle down.

The problem here is, there are a couple of Malaysian users who have the same model (C6903), and have managed to update to 14.1.G.2.257

But I appreciate your reply

Thanks! I tried SUS and it detected my phone needed an update. So it managed to download that beefy 800mb file and update it to 14.1.G.2.257
