MMS Queued for Sending

Have noticed that my MMS messages are not sending, it is saying 'queued for sending' and then fails to send. This has just started occurring in the last week, I have never had any issues before. I am putting this question on this forum as I rang Telstra today and they were of no help, they informed me I needed to be connected to mobile data to send and receive MMS, I beg to differ because I never have my phone connected unless I physically turn it on to check emails, Facebook etc, and have never ever in the past have had trouble receiving or sending MMS with mobile data off.

Can anyone help?

@Shaz84

As far as I know:

- You need data on to send and receive MMS.

- You need proper MMS internet settings installed.

- If you are on pre-paid plan, you'll need enough balance to download the MMS (depends on the carrier).

Hi @Shaz84, welcome to the community.

Both Telstra and @Quester are correct. An MMS requires an active mobile data connection in order to be sent or received.

If you have been able to do it in the past without a data connection it is likely that the firmware you had on your phone had a customisation from the network to temporarily enable the mobile data before sending, and disable it after the MMS is sent. This is not a function of the default firmware though.
