Phone Notifications Silenced

Phone Notifications Silenced

I have noticed that whenever phone calls come in, it doesn't wake the screen up to show the incoming number. I'd have to unlock the phone, swipe down to reveal the notification bar, tap the call event and then select to answer or reject the call.

In my notification settings, it seems the phone app is "silenced" and i cant figure out how to unsilence it.

When restoring the phone to factory default state, the problem is gone, but whenever I restore from backup it returns.

Screenshot (hopefully) attached.

Cheers

Al

Hi,

I had the exact same problem and have finally figured it out.

Whilst you are on a call, go to your home screen but do not end the call. Pull down the notifications from the top of the screen.

There should be the notification bar for the ongoing call. Hold down on this bar but do not return to the call. An options box should appear. Check the option that says "do not silence". You can now end the call and the problem should be solved.

Hope this helps you

Click on that 'phone'

And then uncheck all options in it.

My sister has the very same problem. Her screen remains blank / doesn't wake up during incoming calls. It's quite a headache however she is able to receive WhatsApp calls perfectly with the screen waking up with no problems.

Please let me know if anyone finds a solution to this

Kimmy01's answer is close but not quite for Android 7.0 and later.

When you pull down the notifications from the top of the screen, tap and hold the call without returning to the call, you will see that you can't silence or block notifications for this app. Tap "settings" and turn on "Interrupt on Priority". This will make the phone calls keep waking up your screen/interrupt your apps when priority mode is on (which is what normally happens)
