Connected my phone to Bridge and it prompted me to install 14.2.A.0.290 update. Everything was going fine until I got the "Update Failed There was an issue with the update engine. Please contact technical support"
When I turn on my phone, the following message is displayed:
The software update failed. Make sure that your phone is connected to your computer and try again.
And then it shuts down. If I connect back to my Mac, Bridge doesn't recognize it. If I connect my phone to the charger, it just keeps looping the above message over and over again.
What is going on? Did I just brick my phone?

I don't have access to PC right now but can likely borrow one this evening. Will this SUS tool recognize my phone when plugged into USB? When I plug into my Mac, Bridge is not recognizing the phone.
Thanks for the links. Forgot I had Parallels installed with Windows 7 virtual machine. I charged up my phone and installed Update Service (SUS) on the VM. Once I connected phone to my Mac, it started downloading the update. Using SUS to download the update was far, far faster than it was using Sony Bridge for Mac.
Once the update had finished installing, my phone came back up fine with everything intact! Not happy that the update failed, but I'm glad my phone is working again.
I'm glad its working now
