Volume jumps on adjustment

Hi all,

Since the update to Android 7 I have the issue that when I press my volume buttons (either up or down), it makes huge steps. My slider goes basically from 0 to 50 to 100 and back. Same goes for lowering the volume.

Using the slider is ok.

It appears on all types of volume: media, ringer, etc.

On Android 6 I never had this, and also have not installed new apps since my upgrade to Android 7.

Already checked if the protective case was the problem, but no luck. After rebooting it works fine for a couple of minutes, but after that it back again.

Any suggestions?

Regards Chris (Z5c, Android 7, no root, latest updates installed)

@Chrizdude that jump as described seems rather much.....i would try running it in Safe Mode for a bit to see if the problem still exists

Thanks, I will try that!

Yes, the steps are really big. Basically there are only 2 steps over the full range, which is really annoying because it blasts the sound through my ears when wearing headphones.

Strange thing is that after a reboot it seems ok, but thats only for a while. Using the screen slider is ok. It are only the hardware buttons that give the issue.

I googled quite a lot, but have not found a similar issue....

I have the same issue. Maybe not from 0 to 50 to 100 but from 0 to 25 to 50 etc...
But I can't even use the slider, it does the same. It was like that in 7.0 and now in 8.0 as well.

Did you find a solution?

Best regards
