tnx man, how about the recording app
No recorder (I'm in the UK). Even when I select + it's NOT there........
I got my Z2 yesterday. I'm new to Addroid phones (iPhone). I wanted to try Android and bought Z2. I was looking for a way to change keyboar from one language to another (need to switch from English to German and Turkish) and looking for compass. I came up to here and seen the other widgets in the screen shot. I tried to download it via the link but Chrome does not start on my phone. Downloaded Firefox and Opera. Downloaded the notes, but was not allowed to install. Need to go to settings and allow the installation of the downloaded apps/widgets from unknown places. Then I was able to install it. The rest of the widgets I can download and install via Play store. Now I have the compass, Unit converter and the other apps/widgets like Flashlight and so on.
how is that there is no recorder for us
I noticed (and posted in separate thread) that we lost "Recent calls" widget as well, it was on Z and Z1 but no on Z2...
Sony WHY we are loosing features on Z2?
Disappointed.
I changed from Samsung S4 to Xperia Z2. I also can't find the voice recorder and note taking small apps on my Z2... I need these apps..

I'm in the same position as you, having changed from the S4 to the Z2.
To download the voice recorder and note taking small apps, see the following thread on the XDA Developers forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2737540
The .apk file can be downloaded from this thread and can be installed. Note that you will need to amend your Xperia Z2 security settigs to allow installation of software from unknown sources to allow the installation.
I must point out that installation of software from sources other than the Google/Sony app stores is risky. I'm happy in this particular case as the source is an established XDA Developers senior member with almost 5000 posts. Even so installation of any software from sources other than the Google/Sony app stores is at your own risk.
Sony appears to have ditched the voice recorder and note taking small apps in favour of Google Keep, which is included in the most recent firmware update. I rather have the voice and note taking small apps.
