Xperia Z proximity sensor problem

Bought my xperia z in January and was perfect up until yesterday when anytime I'm browsing the net if anything goes near the proximity sensor the screen goes blank as if I'm on a call. Just wondered if it has happened anyone else. Thanks

Boot your phone in safe mode,see if the same occurs:

Have rebooted and it's seemed to of solved the problem but on switching back on an icon has gone walkies but I won't worry bout that. Thanks for your help
