Xperia Z1 compact battery is overheated, does not switch on or charge

Hello,

I have a Xperia Z1 Compact, about 1 year old. My phone is switched off ,although it has 15% battery. When I try to charge my phone it displays ' your device turned off due to overheating ,charging will continue once the device cools down'. I left it for 24hrs ,yet it shows the same thing. When I try to switch it on, the sony xperia logo and 'powered by android' is displayed, then the screen goes black again.

I had recently updated it to one of the latest Android versions and also downloaded a lot of apps causong the phone memory to be almost full.

I have tried using volume up+power on ,but it doesnt help. My PC cannot detect the phone, except for a moment when the phone tries to switch on. All I can do is get it completely discharged by trying to switch on again and again. But I am not sure if that's a good things for the battery.

Please help

I had removed the Sim and sd-card. I tried powering on in the safe-mode. But its not working.

"Hold the ON/OFF button + volume up(+) button for 5-10 seconds" , the sony xperia logo and 'powered by android' is displayed, then the screen goes black again.

I replaced a battery, but  the sony xperia z1 compact has the same behaviour as the previous one.

So I think, a problem is the mainboard.

I done with the problem.

Tried to hard reset it (hold down volume button and power button), nothing change happen than I taked a risk to take out the battery out.

After a few hours reassembly the battery and try to power on, but the issue still apeared (battery overheated notif).
So, I bought a new battery replacement (OEM), than tried to replace the battery.

With the new battery installed, I can turned ON my phone!!! The start up setting came up (ordinary happen if we reset our phone).

And than I updated the software. After finished, I turn OFF the phone than tried to replaced the battery with the old one.

I got surprised, cause the phone can turn on normally with the old battery installed.

So I though maybe the Software update just before the problem came up made the phone had miss understood with the recent battery/power condition. With new battery installed it would help disable the problem.

Hi

I have the same problem, but have not succeeded in finding a solution. When i connect the charger, the message on screen says "Your device turned off due to overheating. Charging will continue after the device has cooled down." It has been 2 days that I have allowed the phone to cool down & is still the same. Is this a sofware issue.

Please advise.

Have the same problem, but the solution is not working.

If I do it like this, the reset is working (same like on the resetbutton) and after plug in the voltage, the message returns again.

white Sony on black screen, after that the failure message.

only a few weeks after the warranty expired... with intent....

Are you sure you have Z1C? Replacing the battery is not something that is intended to be done on your own. Anyway your case doesn't seeem to be the same as most here, which is just problem with facebook app.
