Good morning (I'm in a different hemisphere than you) @Pelad898 and welcome to the community!
I'm really sorry to hear about your phone. Do you know when this started happening? I mean, was it after you performed an update, installed a specific app or something happened with the phone?
After your device is shut down, try booting it with the volume down button pressed in during the entire startup process. This will boot your phone directly to safe mode, which will allow us to see if any third party applications could be causing this. Could you also try booting your phone without your SIM- and/or SD-card inserted?
You mention that this happens quite often when the charger is connected, are you plugging in your charger to a wall socket or a computer? Is there any difference if you use a different charger?
Please let me know if there's any change!
No worries.
You havn't noticed any specific pattern as to when it happens? How often would you say that you experience this?
Once your phone is rebooted to safe mode, use it as you normally would.
If you experience that the display turns black even while your device is in safe mode I'd recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do consider that this will reset your phone and you should make a backup first.
Keep me updated!
Hi Didrik,
The problem always is when the cellphone is using too much memory, and when it starts to get warm.
For example a few minutes ago I was trying to make a backup of my photos, app, etc. with the Xperia transfer App (because I can't install the Xperia Companion because a Kernell Problem) and after a few minutes the screen turn black and then the cellphone shut down.
I'm still trying to turn it on, when I press the power button it vibrate but the screen still in black. I always must wait like 20/30 minutes until I can turn it on again.
.
Didrik,
After 2 hours I could turn on my cellphone, i did what you told me: start the phone in safe mode but it was realy warm and just when I have to verificate the account it was the same thing: Black screen, vibrate and turn off. It did not show any screen with where I detail some mistake or something.
Hi @peladd,
If my suggestions above was of no help and you are unable to perform a software repair I would recommend a factory data reset, found under Settings > Backup & restore > Factory data reset. I would also recommend that you make a backup under Settings > Backup & restore rather than using Xperia Transfer since the data in Xperia Transfer will be automatically deleted after a while.
If you are unable to install Xperia Companion on your computer, are you able to borrow another computer temporarily?
If a factory reset or software repair is performed and you still experience that the display turns black completely random I'd recommend that you have your phone sent in to be examined by an authorized service centre. For information on how to proceed with doing so I recommend that you contact your Local support as they will have more information on local warranty and service procedures in your market.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, please keep me updated!
I also experienced the same problem.
Did you get the phone repaired or sold / disposed?
What are/is the component replaced?
Hello Koh,
