Hi guys, hoping you can give me a little help here.
I updated my Xperia Z3C to Lollipop the other day, which has been fine so far, but last night I moved a few apps over to my SD card to free up some of the internal memory in my phone (not using any third party app to do this).
It seems as though something has gone wrong, as my phone restarted itself while one of the apps was transferring and now ALL of them are showing up as a blueprint icon with a little red SD card in the corner, and when you click it it says 'Application not found'. I assume this means the app data on the SD card is corrupt. As I have photos and music on my SD which still work I don't really want to format it, but not sure what to delete to make these icons disappear from my app menu!
I'm not bothered about re-installing the apps, that's not a problem for me at all , but the main issue is opening the app menu and the first page and a half being nothing but these 'app not found' icons! I've attached an image. As they don't show up in the Apps list in settings anymore I can't get rid of them!
Thanks for your time guys, hoping someone can advise!
EDIT: Have just tried removing the SD card and restarting my phone, but these blueprint icons are still showing which is very worrying!

Anyone had any luck with this problem. Really want to get rid of these broken apps without having to factory reset and lose everything else.
Clearing the data for Xperia Home got rid off the broken app links. However I had to reconfigure my home screen again, since it was reverted back to standard. Took me a couple of minutes but it was worth it.
Go to Settings->Apps->All apps and then Xperia Home. Choose Clear Data and it should solve the problem.
Just go to Google Play, log in and go to apps / My apps. You'll see all the applications installed in your device
Hi,
I know this topic has been done to death, but I am pretty sure there is an easier way to find out the missing app and reinstall it to delete it properly.
I used APP 2 SD to move various apps around, and I ended up with 5 missing app icons, 4 of which I have recovered and removed sucessfully.
I have one left, and I have been through all my downloads off the play store yet I cannot get it.
Now I know this is residual from the internal storage, so I assume it is being picked up on boot , or at least some files are . I have located what I think is the folder on the internal storage, but is there any way of definitely finding it and removing it so the icon disappears ? The icon is not on the home screen, its in the full app list. Thanks in advance.
Simple answer is no - All you can do is a factory reset or system repair and start a fresh
THANK you! It's been driving me nuts - now resolved 🙂
Hi,
I have a problem with my new microSD card. I copied all the files from my current card to the new one. But now some of the applications can't be found. Those applications show a red icon with a microSD card in it (see below). According to File Commander the same files are on the new card as on the old one.
The new card has 32 GB, class 10, it is brandless.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!
EDIT: I tried formatting the new card and copying the files again, it's still the same. The apps work normal when I put in the old card.
There will have been hidden files which help in the reading and writing of files to SD cards just like a Pc has hidden folder and files which are needed for all Pc's to boot up and run programs
