The worst phone I've ever bought, L bought a XPERIA Z1 Compact on july 2015,since the begining l knew this phone wouldn't meet my expectations, screen size was terrible, too small to be honest, the camera was just simple or common as any other device on the market down to 13 mpx. When l tried to use it as portable wi-fi my computer, toshiba wouldn't recognize it , it was a very hard time for it to do it!, then the notifications would only arrived once the phone was unblocked, that was insane, compared to a Samsung phone l used it would recognize my device immediately!. Besides, the water resistant stuff, that's just not true, once l inmerse the phone in water it swallowed it all, and the screen and power-on button would stop working. And finally the worst, the phone fell down on the floor, it was about 5 - 10 cm away from it, and it just stopped charging, l thought there wouldn't be a problem at all, it's suppose to be resistant, isn't? Then l went to check what problem was , and they told me the device wouldnt have any solution, unbelievable, lt was just a waste of money, and such huge amount of money a paid for it. The dealer where l got it from stated that phones resistant to water wouldn't cover for any warranty, even more ridiculous. To make story short, l won't ever, ever get a phone from SONY, and l personally don't recommend it, l know a lot of people l'll tell them to avoid getting this type of phones, so they can't go trought all the l went trough. This may not be the right place to say it, but communication with big companies is such a terrible experience!. Not Recommended at All.
I'm sorry to hear that, why would you buy the Compact version instead of the full version if you think the screen was too small?
but let's check the issues.
Camera, which camera settings are you using? in which light conditions?
tethering should work just fine unless your carrier/network blocks it, did you left it open or secured?
The phone it is waterproof, as long as the covers are firmly closed, and there's no physical damage, you can request a vacuum test and that will prove if the issue its a factory issue or if the user it's at fault.
If the buttons stopped working, it's most likely due to water damage.
All this can be inspected by your >>> Local support
