A7R III update 1.10 impossible Mac OS 10.13.4

Hello all,

after repeated attempts and increasing frustration I have had no luck whatsoever trying to iupdate the firmware

I have followed the instructions to the letter so it's not me 

perhaps OS 10.13.4 not compatible?

anybody had similar problems?

advice welcomed

solved! the problem was the Security & Privacy in 10.13.4 System Prefs would not allow the installation of the driverloader_1013

- solution was to manually install the kext into MacHD>Library>Extensions

the update then ran without a hitch..

I've spent ages on trying update. Please can you advise me how to manually install the kext into MacHD>Library>Extensions. I would be most grateful.

OK this is what I did as a workaround when the DL110_1712a would not install because Security & Privacy in 10.13.4 would not allow it - but I can't guarantee it will work for anyone eklse

1 double click to open the download disk image having dragged from downloads to the desktop

2 'right' click or 2-finger click to open package contents 

3 Open Package Contents>Contents>Resources

at the bottom of the list is the kext called SONYDeviceType01.kext

4 drag this to your Library extensions folder and the Updater shoud run
