External Flash on an a6000

I am trying to use my old Minolta 3600HD with a Sony ADP-MAA adaptor and cannot get it to work correctly. The camera appears to 'see' the flash (charge state shows in the display), the flash 'zooms' with the camera and the flash fires, but not in sync; the photos are as if the flash was not there. I have set and re-set everything I can think of, including a full factory reset, but with no success. Can anyone offer me any guidance?

Hi @chandalf

This combination should work and as such it is likely to be a mis-alignment on the shoe somewhere. Make sure everything is spotlessly clean and check for signs of minor damage, etc. 

With older flash units it's not uncommon to run into this sort of problem, sadly.
