DSC W35 Dark Pics

If I shoot say 10 shots of the same scene using flash, around half of them appear as if the flash wasn't used and are dark, even though the flash has fired every time. Is the CCD on it's way out?

Hello corringhamlad - Welcome to the Sony Forums

If you are concerned about the image quality of your DSC-W35, you could try doing a full reset of the camera to see if this helps. For your camera, the reset procedure is described pn page 24 of the manual here:

http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/2319003111.pdf

It is called 'Initializing' the settings and the option can be accessed in the 'Setup 1' menu on your camera.

If this doesn't help, feel free to post an image or two in this forum thread so that we can have a look. If you are convinced that the camera is faulty and you want to find out more about a repair, the contact details for Sony Customer Services are available in the following forum thread:

Thanks,

Simon
