Connect old hifi speakers to new hifi system

Hello,

I have a
Sony MHC-RXD7 hifi that I have loved and used for years and years, but the chips for the CD player have had their day and I don’t think it can be repaired. I really love the speakers on this system. The sound quality is good and they have lots of bass even without any bass boost of any kind. I was wondering if I could connect these speakers to a new Sony hifi system like the CMT-SBT20B? Do you think they would work? I think they are passive speakers so don’t require any power from the main unit.

Any useful insights or information would be much appreciated.

Thank you in advance, Izzie

Of course you can. But usually Sony micro hifi system compoments are designed to match together so you might not have same sound signature. Just give it a try
