Access network share?

I have a BDV-E870 system and I wonder if its possible to access network shares without the use of DLNA-server? The system itself can decode and play mpg, avi, mkv etc from a USB-stick, would be great to be able to do this from a share or http since DLNA consumes alot of CPU on my current server when transcoding the movies. This is possible when using a Playstation 3 so it should not be impossible to make it work on the BD-systems as well.

PS3 has an incredibly fast CPU and a full browser which makes it very easy for it to carry out these kind of tasks, whereas your device s incredibly good at playing Blu-rays and delivering a home theatre experience, but it lacks an open browser.

Thanks
