DVD HDD HXD860 Crashed and now won't boot.

I went to set a series recorder on Channel 5 for the new series of Dallas this evening. The box froze and then switched off. It will now not turn on properly. It makes some noise, shows 'Welcome' and then goes blank again.

I can't find a solution to this elsewhere and wonder if a software update has caused an issue.

Grateful for any help and can of course provide any more detail.

Can't be the software (in any case it doesn't update by itself and there is no new software since 3 years). It's probably an hardware problem due to the HDD or DVD drive. I'm sorry I think your main option is to bring it to a service center.
