Do SKY block access to Bravia internet TV?

I'm trying to set up my Bravia KDL-37EX723 for internet and keep on getting the error mesage 2200 'configuration failed while connecting'. Have tried wireless and wired connection and have followed instructions to the letter including re-settinbg powering down, inputting IP adreesses etc manually and auto, every possible option that the system give you. Wireless connectivity on all other devices is excellent, right by the TV.   I'm not an expert on IT matters, but DO manage to solve most problems - this ones got me beat!

It IS an oldish TV but my laptop is same age and works brilliantly wireless on the same network, as does an android phone of same generation. so it can't be that!

I'm left thinking there is a basic incompatibility between Sony and Sky, or maybe Sky don't support internet TV because it means I won'yt need their service any more?

Any thoughts?

Hi

Short answer: no

See these two help articles:

Advise setting a manual ip address on the TV, and using Googles DNS servers of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
