Repairing / Replacing HDMI ports

Repairing / Replacing HDMI ports

Hi folks,

I have a 32" Sony Bravia, 4-5 years old. The 2 HDMI ports on the back are basically gone. No devices can sync up to the TV, although it tries it hardest to make a connection it just doesn't happen,

Tried all the usual stuff, the devices work on numerous other TV's I've tried, changed cables etc. It is the HDMI ports on the TV that are more or less dead. I've had a quick google search, and so far my research seems to suggest that a repair / replacing the HDMI ports wont be cost effective and your better of getting a new TV,

Does anyone have a rough estimate of how much it would cost to repair / replace the 2 HDMI ports?

Thanks in advance

AJ

Hi there

More than likely you will require a "main board".  Of which the part (if it is available - and assuming it is the main board) can go either way, rather cheap, or a silly price.  Plus, you need to factor is the engineers labour costs. It takes time to properly fault find, replace and then test.

Your best bet, is to contact an authorised Sony Replair Centre : Here
