Screen saver when radio channel

I often listen to radio channels on the tv but am concerned at the large display that appears. Does anyone know if I can turn the screen off or if there is a screen saver. I have searched but cannot find. Thanks

Hi there
Sorry Quinnicus, but, I think there is a way! (at least on my TV!)
ECO mode --> Power Saving --> Picture Off
(I don’t know if there’s a “shortcut” in this TV)

http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/13LW600114/EN/c_eco_backlight.html

"Saving power by picture brightness
Overview
You can reduce power consumption by changing the picture brightness.

Steps
1. Press the HOME button, then select [Settings] using the  /  buttons.

2. Select  [System Settings] using the  /  buttons, then press the  button.

3. Select [Eco] using the  /  buttons, then press the  button.
4. Select [Power Saving] using the  /  buttons, then press the  button.
5. Select the desired option using the  /  buttons, then press the  button.
To return to the last viewed source, press the HOME button twice.
Available Options
[Picture Off]
Maximum power saving. Picture turns off; sound remains on.
[High]
High power saving. Picture darkens.
[Low]
Low power saving. Picture darkens slightly.
[Off]
No power saving.
Tips
If the power is turned off while [Picture Off] is set, [Power Saving] will be set to [Off] when the power is turned on next time. "

Hi there

There is no way to actually turn the display off when listening to a radio station, but you can display a wallpaper (which i think is animated) or a photo slideshow.

See instructions : HERE

Cheers

Hey Jan

Yeah, you are right, however I have looked at this before on another thread previously:

http://community.sony.co.uk/t5/Televisions/KDL-42W805A-Radio-screensaver/m-p/1434512#M17398

The thing is, you have to actually goto HOME > System Settings > Eco > Power Settings    EVERYTIME you use the radio and/or change stations or do anything.  Therefore its a big pain in the you know what

Unless you are listening to a test match in cricket, its not worth it (again my opinion)

However, you are right I probably should have included it as an option (I forgot about it at the time of reply)
